Underground rubbish container
General
After separating your waste, you will be left with non-recyclable rubbish. Take this rubbish to your local underground rubbish container. Use your waste disposal pass to open the container.
Rubbish container full or broken
If the container is full or blocked, if waste has been deposited next to the container or if the container won't open, please report this.
Outside of office hours, you can report an emergency or a broken underground container on telephone number 14 076.
Disposing of your rubbish
Take your rubbish to an underground rubbish container and dispose of this using your waste disposal pass. 2 locations are included on your waste disposal pass. If you would like to dispose of your waste in 1 or 2 other location(s), you can request to add this/these location(s). Use the form for this.
What you need to know
Take residual waste to an underground rubbish container in your area. Open the container using the waste disposal pass.
- Place your waste disposal pass on the display. You will hear a click. You can then open the cover. Close the cover after you have placed the rubbish bag in the container.
- If the container won't open, or if it is full or blocked, take the rubbish to the other underground container on your pass, or take your rubbish home with you.
- The underground rubbish containers are emptied at least once a week.
- Bulky waste or bags that are too large will get stuck and will block the container. Take this rubbish to the waste recycling centre, or register arrange for this bulky waste to be collected.
Do not deposit any rubble or building and demolition waste in the underground rubbish container.
There are no underground rubbish containers in the suburbs. Households in the suburbs have a grey container for non-recyclable waste.
