Waste collection in and around the city centre

Presenting and collecting waste in and around the city centre is arranged differently.

A different route will be taken on December 25 and 26 (Christmas) and January 1 (New Year’s Day) (Dutch). On December 24 and 31 , collection will follow the standard schedule but only until 14.00 hours.

Waste collection in the city centre

• In the city centre, if you have a waste disposal pass, you can present your waste for collection by the refuse truck, or take it to an underground rubbish container.
• The truck collects the waste at set times.
• There are also 2 locations where the refuse truck stops at set times.
• Separate your waste: 
  non-recyclable waste,
  paper,
  plastic packaging/tin (cans)/empty drink cartons in the special bags that are available free of charge.
• With your waste disposal pass you can take your waste, old paper, plastic packaging materials and drink cartons for collection to the bicycle storage area on Nieuwstraat and Oude Vest.

Waste collection around the city centre

• Take your waste to the collection containers in your area.
• With your waste disposal pass you can use underground rubbish containers.
• Companies must take waste at set times.
