Visitors’ scheme
General
The visitors’ scheme allows visitors of residents who live in the city centre or in paid parking zones, to park in the street or in a car park at a discounted cost. Based on your address, you can apply for discounted parking for your visitors on the street or in a car park. Create an account in 2Park to arrange and pay for on-street parking. Buy ‘exit cards’ at the P-Desk for your visitors to park in a car park.
How does the visitors’ scheme work
On-street parking
- Log into P-Desk using DigiD and apply for the street visitors’ scheme. Register for a personal account in 2Park with the link in the confirmation email.
- Transfer an amount to your personal account via iDEAL to pay for the parking; a maximum of € 20 per month.
- Any credit remaining at the end of the month can be used in future months.
- Register your visitor using the number plate. You can register more than one number plate at the same time.
- When your visitor leaves, deregister the number plate.
- The parking fees will be deducted from your balance.
- Your visitors may only park in the permit area where you live.
- There is no maximum parking time for paid parking.
- Cars with scanners (Dutch) check the number plates.
As well as the Visitors Scheme - Street (low rate) there is a Visitors Scheme - Street Normal Rate. Once you have reached the maximum for the low-rate scheme, you can switch to the normal rate scheme.
- Apply for this scheme in P-Loket (make sure sufficient funds are available).
- Register/deregister your visitor in 2Park.
- Your visitor pays the normal rate for on-street parking.
- There is no maximum parking time for paid parking.
If your visitor cannot register in 2Park, they can use the parking meter or the mobile parking app (Dutch).
Move house
If you move house within a permit area or move to another permit area, cancel your current Visitors Scheme - Street. Apply for a new Visitors Scheme - Street once the council has processed your address change.
Instructions 2Park
Instructions are available for 2Park in Dutch explaining the menu items and options.
Parking in a car park
- Log into P-Desk using DigiD and order exit cards for the Het Turfschip, Concordiastraat or De Prins car parks (no more than 48 cards/year) and the cards will be sent to your home by post within 5 working days.
- Your visitor uses the exit card instead of paying.
- An exit card is valid from the day of receipt for the next 2 calendar years. The expiry date is shown on the card.
- The exit card allows your visitor to park for a maximum period of 24 hours.
