Objecting to a parking fine

General

If you do not agree with your parking fine, you can object to this. You must object within 6 weeks from the date of the fine. You are submitting an objection to the company that collects fines on behalf of Breda council.

What you need to know

Would you like to make an objection? Send your objection within 6 weeks from the date on the parking ticket (the date it was issued).  Pay your parking fine on time, even if you want to object to this fine. The parking fine tells you how to pay. If we agree with your objection, this money will be paid back to you.

Would you like to see the photo of the offence or have you already asked for this? If so, you can see the photo first to decide whether you want to object.

When may you wish to object?

Examples of situations when you may wish to object:

  • If you were not the owner of the car at the time that the parking offence (for which you were fined) took place. You must prove this. For example, by sending the official "release of liability" form for a car sale, with your objection.
  • If a person renting your car was responsible for the offence for which you received the parking fine. You must prove this. For example, by sending the car rental agreement with your objection, signed by both parties.
  • If there is proof that you have entered an incorrect registration plate. You must prove this. For example, by sending the payment receipt with your objection.

Objecting by post

You can also object by post. Explain your objection in a letter. You must include:

  • the reason for your objection
  • your first name and surname
  • your date of birth
  • your address
  • the penalty charge notice number shown on the front of the fine
  • the registration plate shown on the front of the fine
  • your signature and date of your letter

Send the letter to:

Gemeente Breda, Invoned
