Refugees from Ukraine

From the moment that war broke out in Ukraine, Breda has supported the people of Ukraine. Breda is a hospitable and borderless city and has shouldered its responsibilities by offering Ukrainians the first emergency refugee shelters. Thanks to the efforts of Breda's committed residents, at the end of March 2022 the first refugees were provided with accommodation at De Koepel. Six months later, De Koepel provides accommodation for approximately 400 Ukrainian refugees. In addition, a large group, more than 160 refugees, are hosted by people and families in their own homes in Breda.
Even more refugees are making their way to the Netherlands and the national reception centres are full.
