Buy a green strip

General

A green strip (a small plot of municipal ground) is a small piece of public green space which borders your plot, measuring no more than 150 m2 on municipal land. If you would like to purchase a green strip, you can submit a request. 

Conditions

  • you are the owner of the house which the green strip borders
  • the green strip does not form part of the municipality's primary green zone (such as community parks or neighbourhood parks, or greenery alongside local access roads)
  • no 'green' or 'nature' status has been given to the green strip (visit spatial planning website) (Dutch)
  • no district heating is located beneath the green strip
  • the green strip does not form part of the primary tree zone

What you need to know

If you meet all conditions, the municipality will process your application. The municipality may still decide to reject your request. Following approval, you will receive a purchase agreement within 12 weeks.

  • transfer tax
  • fees for notary services
